'Maddam Sir' actor Imran Nazir Khan reveals his casting couch experience

Actor Imran Nazir Khan who is best known for Hamari Bahu Silk, Maddam Sir, Gathbandhan, Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga and many more opens up on his casting couch experience and how he had to miss out on many roles due to this.

Imran reveals, "At the start of my career, while auditioning for roles I experienced Casting Couch from the coordinators and casting directors who said that they would give me good work if I get intimate with them. Simply, I refused saying that I'm straight but I think every newcomer goes through such situation whether male or female. These are some known top notch casting directors who take undue advantage of new comers because they have good contacts. Even actors like Ayushmaann Khurana and Ranveer Singh have openly talked about it. I feel such auditions should happen only on the basis of talent and merit."

He further continues, "Due to such experiences, I lost on many projects and good roles coming my way despite being a perfect candidate for the role. Sometimes it takes a toll on your mental health when you are very new to this industry trying to figure out things for you also dealing with the uncertainty in this field."

The Gathbandhan actor also talks about how his past relationship hindered him in his career. He says, "When I came to Mumbai, I was dating someone outside the industry then afterwards we broke up. But later, she has started black mailing me. If I share photos or videos with other girls on social media, she get infuriated by this. And because of that, she posts our personal pictures on social media tagging my family members as well and asks for money. I had given her money as well quite a few times to delete those pictures but still she has that account and kept it private. But whenever I post something with any girl, again I go through the same thing."
