Maa Box office collection day 3: Kajol’s film shows slight growth, expected to soon surpass Rs 20 crore mark

Vishal Furia's film Maa exceeded expectations, earning Rs 4.65 crore on its opening day, as reported by sacnilk.com. Pre-release predictions had estimated the film's first-day earnings to be between Rs 3.50 and Rs 4.50 crore, making the actual figures a pleasant surprise.

Maa saw increased viewership over the weekend, with a 29.03% rise on Saturday, adding Rs 6 crore. Sunday's early estimates suggest a steady pace, collecting Rs 6.75 crore, bringing the total to Rs 17.40 crore after its debut weekend. The film is expected to soon surpass Rs 20 crore.

On Sunday, Maa had an overall occupancy of 31.17%, with the evening show attracting the most viewers. The day began slowly, with a 10.71% occupancy in the morning, but increased significantly during the afternoon (35.57%) and evening (46.68%) shows. Night shows saw a slight decrease, with 31.71% occupancy.

She plays Ambika with strength, but not enough emotional layering. Her grief after losing her husband? Barely felt. Her desperation as a mother? Shown, but not experienced. Only in a few scenes with her on-screen daughter, played by the promising Kherin Sharma, does the connection feel genuine. Their bond is the only warm thread in an otherwise cold film."
