The music world was left in shock last month after the sudden death of Liam Payne, who tragically fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina. In the wake of his passing, new reports have emerged, shedding light on the accusations directed at his close friend, Roger Nores, with prosecutors alleging "abandonment."
According to a report, Liam and Roger had developed a strong friendship in the months leading up to the singer's untimely death. The two traveled to Argentina together, although they stayed in separate accommodations. While Liam was alone in his room at the CasaSur Hotel, Roger stayed elsewhere.
Prosecutors claim that Roger was aware of Liam's increasingly erratic behavior during this time. The report revealed that on the evening before his death, Liam ordered four bottles of whiskey at 10 PM, followed by five more bottles the next morning at 6:36 AM. Additionally, Liam allegedly became aggressive, reportedly punching the hotel television three times after facing a financial demand.
However, sources close to Roger have defended him, stating that he checked on Liam three times on the day of his death. They insist that when Roger left the hotel about an hour before Liam's fatal fall, the singer appeared fine and showed no signs of being under the influence. As of now, local prosecutors have not filed any charges against Roger, and an appeal by national prosecutors to have the judge rule on the matter has reportedly been rejected.
Liam had traveled to South America to support his former bandmate Niall Horan, who was touring to promote his third studio album, The Show. The singer's funeral took place in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, where Liam's former One Direction bandmates—Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik—were all in attendance to pay their respects.
