Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Marks Her First Birthday After His Tragic Passing

Kate Cassidy marked her 26th birthday without her partner, Liam Payne. The former One Direction member passed away on October 16, 2024, after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina. Cassidy, who was dating Payne at the time, has been coping with her sorrow since the tragic event.

On March 25, she celebrated her first birthday without him and reminisced about the past year. She shared a collection of images on social media, including nostalgic photos of her and the late singer.

"Thankful for another year and reflecting on the beauty of 25," she captioned the post. "It’s a chapter that will always be a part of me. Here’s to 26…" Cassidy added. The post featured her wearing pink activewear, holding a cupcake with a candle as she looked away from the camera.

One of the photos captured Payne and Cassidy from behind as they explored a bookshelf. Other pictures showed them at Disneyland, on a swan-shaped paddle boat, and seated at a dining table during a friend's wedding.

Cassidy also included a series of solo photos, possibly offering a glimpse into her quiet birthday celebration.

A few days prior, Cassidy was overcome with emotion in a heartfelt TikTok video as she reflected on the late singer. While organizing her belongings, she was reminded of a wedding they attended in Paris the previous year. Discovering the yellow gown she wore to the wedding, memories came rushing back, causing Cassidy to tear up.

"This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort," she shared in the video. She also unearthed a pair of Christian Louboutin heels that she had paired with the dress that evening. The shoes were worn from dancing the night away with Payne.

She was surprised she hadn't discarded them but was also grateful to have such treasured mementos from her and Payne's magical night.
