Asmit Kaushik debuts his television acting career with the new show Kaisi Lagi Lagan on Sahara One Mahi Vij aka Pratha in the show. where he will be playing the main protagonist opposite

In a chit chat, the young lad shares his journey of becoming a lawyer to an actor.
Acting came to Asmit by sheer luck. "I had never decided to take up acting as a career. It just happened. I told a friend of mine about the audition for a show and he suggested to me that I should go and try for Kaisi Lagi Lagan. I thought why not give it a try and was selected immediately," says the actor.
Why acting when you were pursuing law? "Law was never my choice of career either. After my HSC my parents wanted me to pursue law and I just followed their order. They wanted me to have plan B before taking up acting. But I realized that law was not my cup of tea though I still plan to complete it," he quips.
Asmit is studying law from Mithibai College. "I don't know whether I'll be able to complete my studies as since long I've not attended my college. Kaisi Lagi Lagan is soon to start and we have been shooting back to back."
Talking about his character, Asmit explains, "I essay the role of Raghav who hails from a very rich family. He is an emotional, understanding and caring person and comes across as a true gentleman - refined, suave and sophisticated. Raghav is cool headed, believes in reasoning and logic rather than superstitions.
"When he meets Pratha, he falls in love with her at first sight. And then there is no stopping this romantic guy who goes on to pursue his lady-love, but never crosses his limit to cause Pratha any discomfort. But there comes moments of misunderstanding, sadness and arguments between them which take a momentary toll on the lives of the much in love couple. They go separate ways wanting space from each other for some time, but move farther away only to come back in each other's arms," he states.
Is there any similarity between your real and reel life characters? "The only difference is that I'm little superstitious as I believe in ghosts. Other things like emotional, caring etc are similar. But after starting the shoot for this show, I've also started believing in logic. This can be said as a positive change," he laughs.
How has been your experience so far with the shoot? "It has been a great experience and everybody including the team and my co-stars have helped me a lot. There are many experienced actors in the show who have given me tips on what to do and how to face the camera. I'm gelling well with my co-stars, which is very essential for a show to work. Mahi and I share a good rapport and we are good friends now," he concludes.
