It has only been a few hours since legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away but the entire entertainment industry and the rest of the world mourns her death, the last rites will be performed today in the evening around 6.30 pm today.

As of now, her mortal remains in the hospital. And while everyone will be willing to come in and give their condolences, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray has taken upon himself to oversee the preparation of the veteran singer's last rites. It will be taking place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai-

As of now, several Bollywood celebrities arrived at the Mangeshkar’s residence to pay their last respects. Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Bhagyashree and other stars were snapped outside the building.

Her mortal remains will be taken from Breach Candy Hospital to her Prabhu Kunj residence off Peddar Road in South Mumbai. It will then be brought to Shivaji Park, where the last rites will be held with full state honours around 6.30 pm, the official said.

Mangeshkar passed away at 8: 12 am Sunday at the hospital due to multiple organ failure, her sister Usha Mangeshkar and doctors treating confirmed. Initially, she had tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms and was admitted on January 8 to Breach Candy Hospital's intensive care unit (ICU).
