After months of anticipation, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 finally has a confirmed release date. Star Plus has officially announced that the much-awaited sequel will premiere on July 29, 2025, at 10:30 PM, with Smriti Irani reprising her iconic role as Tulsi Virani.
The announcement came through a fresh promo shared by the makers on social media. In the video, a family is seen dining at a restaurant, fondly recalling moments from the original series. The scene then cuts to Tulsi, watering a tulsi plant, as Smriti Irani makes a dramatic return, declaring, “Kya aap abhi bhi vishwaas nahi kar paa rahe?”
She continues, confirming that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is back after 25 years, this time with a brand-new story. The caption read: “25 saal ke baad, Tulsi Virani laut rahi hai, ek nayi kahaani ke saath! Kyunki ek baar phir tayyar hai har ghar ka hissa banne.”

Amar Upadhyay reprises his role as Mihir Virani, and Hiten Tejwani and his wife Gauri Pradhan are also confirmed for the new season. Last week, the cast even shot the season’s promo song at a Vasai studio.
Ekta Kapoor, who created the original show, had first announced the revival during its 25th anniversary celebration on July 3. However, the promo and launch were delayed due to creative challenges and internal production setbacks.
The new season is said to retain the emotional depth of the original while introducing a contemporary narrative aimed at younger audiences. Smriti Irani’s first official look from the sequel was also unveiled today, creating a nostalgic buzz among long-time viewers.
While the production faced delays initially, the shoot is now on track. The makers are reportedly committed to balancing legacy with modern sensibility.
With the return of Tulsi and Mihir, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is set to test whether nostalgia still rules Indian television. Viewers can catch the show on Star Plus and stream it anytime on JioCinema.
