Today, the big news from the world of Korean entertainment is that the nominees for 61st Baeksang Arts Awards have been announced. Lovely Runner

Lovely Runner has been nominated in three big categories for the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Drama. It has won many awards till date at the Seoul Drama Awards, APAN Star Awards, Asia Contents Awards and so on. A romance, comedy and fantasy, the show is a tale of two lovers Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon) and Ryu Sunjae (Byeon Woo-seok) who travel through time in different twists of fate. It has fantasy elements but viewers love how moving the story was between the main leads. It made Byeon Woo-seok, an overnight star.

Goblin

This is perhaps the most watched Korean drama in the world. Goblin starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go-Eun and Lee Dong-wook has attained cult status for its incredible blend of fantasy, romance, comedy and memorable bromance. Gong Yoo is stellar as Kim Shin/Goblin, a role that defined his character, and got him all the awards that season.

My Mister

My Mister won Best Drama at 55th Baeksang Arts Awards. It has IU and late Lee Sun-kyun of Parasite fame in main roles. The actress played the role of a debt-ridden woman looking after her ailing grandmother. Late Lee Sun-kyun was a structural engineer with deep personal wounds.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix even got a nomination at the International Emmy Awards. Park Eun-bin and Kang Tae-Oh played the main lead in a story revolving around a lawyer with autism. The show was applauded for its realistic depiction of the struggles of neuro-divergent people.

Crash Landing On You

Crash Landing On You is one award-winning romantic drama that is adored by millions of viewers the world over. The lead couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin won the Best Couple at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards. It was the tale of a chaebol heiress who falls in love with a North Korean soldier. The story transcended boundaries with its topic of pure love.

It's Okay to Not Be Okay

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay stars Kim Soo-Hyun, Seo Ye-Ji and Oh Jung-se in main roles. Seo Ye-Ji is Moon Ka-young who is a children’s writer. She falls obsessively in love with Moon Gang-tae played by Kim Soo-Hyun. He is a caregiver for his brother who is autistic. The show is about how they meet at a place where they spent their childhood and slowly help one another.

Mr Sunshine

Mr Sunshine starring Lee Byung-Hun, Kim Tae-Ri and Yoo Yeon-seok in main roles is a historical show. Lee Byung-hun won many awards for his enthralling performance as a Marine Corps officer. He returns to Korea when it is under Japan and fights for independence.

My Dearest

This show is a historical romance with Namkoong Min in the lead role. On the show, a couple deeply in love see the ravages of war as Korea is invaded by the Qing dynasty. The war scenes of the show are incredible. It has a rating of above 9 on Viki.

Flower Of Evil

Lee Joon-gi and Moon Chae-won play a much in love couple whose lives get a twist when the former’s past comes to the fore. With Moon Chae-won’s character investigating a series of horrific murders both of them have to face some shocking truths.
