KL Rahul Shares the Story Behind Daughter's Unique Name Which Took Efforts To Convince Athiya Shetty

Delhi Capitals Batsman and new dad, KL Rahul revealed that he selected the name "Evaarah" for his daughter after discovering its meaning online. He admitted that his wife, actress Athiya Shetty, needed some convincing to agree on the name for their baby.

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty celebrated a special moment last month by sharing the first photo of their baby girl on his birthday. Athiya Shetty announced their daughter's arrival in March on Instagram. Recently, KL Rahul discussed why he chose the name Evaarah for their daughter.

KL Rahul found the name Evaarah unexpectedly. He said they looked through several name books from friends before he searched for its meaning online.

Rahul explained he liked the name right away, and while it took a bit to convince Athiya, both sets of parents loved it. Eventually, Athiya also came to like the name.

Athiya and Rahul married on January 23, 2023, in a private ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. The actress also shared her thoughts on their daughter, Evaarah, in a LinkedIn post.

In a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, Athiya Shetty opened up about her relationship with KL Rahul, highlighting the contrasting personalities that contribute to the equilibrium of their bond. She explained that their differences allow them to complement each other, creating a dynamic and balanced partnership.

However, Athiya emphasized that their shared values formed the foundation of their connection. She revealed that it was their similar beliefs and principles that initially drew them together. She shared that there are instances when she experiences certain emotions but lacks the capacity to articulate them. During these moments, KL Rahul demonstrates an innate understanding of her feelings, which she finds deeply touching and unique to their relationship.

On March 24, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty announced that they welcomed their first child, a baby girl. They shared a joint post on Instagram that read, “Blessed with a Baby Girl. 24.03.2025. Athiya And Rahul." Athiya’s brother Ahan Shetty shared the post on his Instagram stories, expressing his joy at becoming an uncle. Meanwhile, her father Suniel Shetty also got emotional, and shared the great news on his Instagram story along with a heart and evil eye emoji.
