Kiara Advani gives a peek at 'mommy-cravings' and what went behind to create the iconic MET look - BTS

Kiara Advani created history last night by being the first Indian actress to debut at the Met Gala with a baby bump. The actress walked the Met steps and the blue carpet flaunting her bump proudly in a Gaurav Gupta couture. While we have already been bombarded with her look and videos from the event, the actress took to her social media handle and gave her fans a peek into the BTS moments and what went behind to create the iconic look that made heads turn and got people talking all across the globe.

In a carousel post, Kiara shared a picture of her complete look, posing for the camera with NYC landscape and tall skyscrapers in the backdrop. Being all candid, Ki also dropped a few pictures of her being in her mommy element and gorging on a slice of pizza while she was getting her hair and makeup done. A few pictures had close-up shots of her jewellery and accessories that she styled with the outfit.

The post also had a video clip of an MET interview where she talked about her looks, her pregnancy, and how proud she felt to represent India at the global stage. Talking about her look, she floated onto the carpet in a custom Gaurav Gupta creation featuring his signature sculptural couture: a golden breastplate encasing her torso, dramatically cascading into a flared train with a black hem and a flowing black-and-white cape. Add in that ethereal pregnancy glow, and yes, Kiara looked divine. The heart-shaped detail on her breastplate, connected by a golden umbilical thread, gave a visual ode to motherhood. That touch earned Gupta major brownie points as fans loved how it was done. For the unversed, the theme of the gala was, “Tailored For You.” The theme celebrates classic tailoring and shines a spotlight on Black designers through the exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.

Kiara was accompanied by her husband Sidharth Malhotra at the event, who made sure every bit to take care of her and was also seen swarmed by his fans outside the museum where he escorted Kiara to the MET steps. Well, now we only await seeing the little bundle of joy and how these two lovely people embrace parenthood.
