Katrina Kaif sheds light on her modelling days; recalls of Malaika Arora being her role model

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has solidified her presence over the years, both through her stellar performances and an ever-growing fan base. The actress recently shared a surprising revelation in an interview, shedding light on her initial aspirations and the unexpected twist that led her from the runway to the silver screen. Notably, Malaika Arora emerged as a significant influence during Katrina's formative modelling years.

In a candid conversation Katrina Kaif reminisced about her early days in Mumbai, where her sole ambition was to carve a niche as a model. The actress disclosed that Malaika Arora, along with supermodels Madhu Sapre and Lakshmi Menon, served as her role models during the nascent stages of her career. Reflecting on those days, Katrina expressed to Mashable, "When I started off as a model in Bombay, my intention was to be a model. My role models were Madhu Sapre and Lakshmi Menon. Those were the supermodels of that time. And even Malaika (Arora) actually. She was still modelling at that time. They were the women I looked up to. And that's what I wanted to be as a model."

While Katrina and Malaika haven't shared the screen together, an intriguing connection binds them. During a phase when Katrina was romantically linked with Salman Khan, her co-star in "Tiger 3," Salman's younger brother, Arbaaz Khan, was married to Malaika Arora, creating an unexpected link between the two Bollywood beauties.

Looking ahead, Katrina is gearing up for her upcoming project, "Merry Christmas," where she shares the screen with the acclaimed actor Vijay Sethupathi. The recently released trailer has already stirred considerable buzz on social media. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by a stellar team including Ramesh Taurani, Sanjay Routray, Jaya Taurani, and Kewal Garg, the film is slated to hit the screens on January 12, 2024, and promises a cinematic experience that transcends language barriers, releasing in both Hindi and Tamil versions.
