Kartik Aaryan's relatives among victims of fatal hoarding collapse in Mumbai

On May 13th, Mumbai faced a fierce dust storm, leading to a tragic incident in the Ghatkopar area. A massive billboard collapsed, claiming the lives of sixteen individuals. Among the victims were Manoj Chansoria and his wife Anita, who were relatives of Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan.

As reported by Indian Express, Kartik Aaryan paid his respects at the funeral of Manoj and Anita, who lost their lives in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse. The couple's red SUV was struck by a 250-tonne hoarding during the storm at a petrol pump in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area on May 13, 2024. Their bodies were discovered nearly 50 hours later, with the exact cause of death yet to be determined.

Manoj and Anita had been in Mumbai to finalise visa paperwork for their son Yash's visit to the United States. Concerned about his parents' disappearance, Yash reached out to his father's colleagues for assistance, sparking a search operation by the Mumbai Police.

Utilizing mobile network data, the police located the couple's last known whereabouts near Ghatkopar, close to the Eastern Express Highway. After a frantic search effort, their bodies were found trapped beneath the collapsed hoarding.

Yash, who flew from the United States upon learning of his parents' disappearance, bid farewell to them at a crematorium in Sahar on Thursday. Manoj Chansoria, a retiree since March 31, was laid to rest amidst heartfelt tributes from friends and colleagues.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, "Chandu Champion," directed by Kabir Khan. The unveiling of the actor's first-look poster from the movie has garnered attention, as audiences eagerly anticipate his performance in the project.
