Karishma Sawant on role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Even if it was not a grey character, it is challenging

Karishma Sawant aka Arohi from producer Rajan Shahi's show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has managed to step into her role quite effortlessly. While she has been a part of showbiz for a while now, this show marks her debut as a lead and well, she seems to be doing well so far. India Forums got in touch with her about the career switch, her role, and some more. Read some excerpts from the conversation here.

Ask her what prompted her to take up acting and make a career switch, and she says, ''I always thought that my potential was not being used in the right place and acting was the platform because I have a creative mind and acting is about creativity and always found this acting profession very interesting personally. So I always looked forward to becoming an actor.''

Her character isn't positive but also not negative. Ask her it it was a risk starting off with what we could call a grey character, and she says, ''Yes of course, it's challenging, even if it was not a grey character, whatever character would have been into, it's challenging because acting is challenging - big or small, irrespective of the role.''

About what can she tell us on the track ahead, she says, ''Honestly, we have absolutely no idea about the track ahead. We just come on set and that's ten we get the script and we know that this is going to be today's shot and we don't know what the next script would be. We get the script on the same day and we have to perform. So we really have no idea about the upcoming tracks.''
