Kangana Ranaut allegedly slapped & abused at Chandigarh airport: Video

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut was allegedly slapped by a woman constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Chandigarh airport today, while on her way to Delhi.

Reacting to the incident, Ranaut stated,

"I am safe. The incident occurred during the security check at the airport. After the check was complete, a CISF woman constable from a different cabin waited for me to pass and then struck me on the face from the side and verbally abused me. When I asked her why, she replied it was because of the farmers' protest."

Expressing her concerns, the actor added,

"What worries me is the increase in terror activities in Punjab and how we are going to address this."

Ranaut, who recently won the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh, was traveling to Delhi to collect her parliamentary ID cards and Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) cards. These cards provide pensioners, MPs, and government employees with medical treatment benefits.

Earlier, she posted a picture captioned, "On my way to the parliament... Mandi ki sansad."

The CISF constable involved in the incident has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur. After the altercation, the constable reportedly told Ranaut that the slap was for "disrespecting farmers," referencing the lengthy farmers' protest against the now-repealed farm laws and the demand for a legal guarantee of minimum support price in 2020-21.

Mobile footage captured Ranaut being escorted by a group of security officers towards the security check-in area, where she is seen conversing with some CISF officers.

The CISF Commandant is investigating the incident and questioning the constable, according to sources. Additionally, one of Ranaut's aides has informed the local police about the incident.
