Kalki’s mother on pregnancy out of wedlock, “Next time you marry, just make sure it’s for life”

Currently, Kalki Koechlin has been expecting her first child with Guy Hershberg, and as of now, the couple hasn’t planned on getting married any time soon. However, Kalki was constantly questioned for expecting a child out of wedlock. 

In an interaction on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio show What Women Want, Kalki opened up about her mother’s reaction when she informed her about the pregnancy. She also mentioned how her mother supported her saying, “Next time you marry, just make sure it’s for life.”

When quizzed about her families' reaction, she said: “Thankfully, both our families are quite unconventional in terms of...they are not too traditional in the sense of having to be married and all of that. My mother is like, ‘Look, next time you marry, just make sure it’s for life.’ Because I have already been divorced once. So she wasn’t in a big hurry.”

Previously, Kalki was married to Anurag Kashyap however due their age differences the couple had to part ways and they announced their separation in 2013 and were legally divorced in 2015. 

The 36-year-old actress has been happy with her relationship with Guy but she does not want to get married anytime soon, “Honestly, it’s not like we’re against marriage. We do want to get married,” Kalki said.

The actress also revealed that she does not want to rush into a marriage just because she’s pregnant. She said, “It’s just the time hasn’t come yet. I think it should be a conscious decision when we are both happy to do it and when we can do it in a not rushed way.”

Kalki is in a happy place with Guy and seems like she does not want to risk losing.
