Kalki 2898 AD filmmaker Nag Ashwin trolled for saying that he had an idea similar to Inception before Nolan

Kalki 2898 AD maker Nag Ashwin is one of the most celebrated directors in India. He proved himself as quite a story-teller with technical finesse right after his first movie, Yevade Subramanyam. He has had a hat-trick of hit films with Yevade Subramanyam, Mahanati and Kalki 2898 AD. In a recent interview, he said he had thought of a movie similar to Inception. However, he did not pitch it to anyone. And when he saw the trailer of Inception, he went into depression for days thinking that he could have been the first to make such a movie. Over the years, Inception has attained a cult status with all fans of Christopher Nolan.

Netizens have trolled him after hearing this. They said this is similar to what Govinda had said about James Cameron wanting to cast him in Avatar. The Bollywood actor had said that he suggested the title to the legendary filmmaker. Govinda said that he was offered a sum of Rs 18 crores by the maker and studio. The Bollywood star went on to say that he declined the movie due to the extensive body painting being done on the actors. He also said the 410 days shooting schedule was also too much for him.

Kalki 2898 AD got mixed reviews from people. Many were not very impressed with the overall film saying the climax was what set it apart, and ensured the price of a film ticket. Nag Ashwin has plans to make a pan-India movie with Alia Bhatt before he decides to work on Kalki 2898 AD 2. For the sequel, he will need dates from all the cast members. Prabhas has four projects right now. Plus, he will need time from Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. They are preparing the sets in the mean time.
