Bollywood actress Kajol is gearing up for her upcoming next Salaam Venky. The actress is leaving no stones unturned to promote the Revathi directorial. Well in a recent conversation with us, Kajol talked about her decision of coming onboard with the film and the backstory can't be missed.
Talking to India Forums Kajol revealed, "Actually maine ye decide kia tha ki mujhe ye film nahi karni hai. When I read the concept note maine Revathi ji ko call kiya, you know I respect her so much, I genuinely think she is one of the most fabulous actors we have in our country. So when I called her I said, "ma'am I deeply respect you and I think you are going to make a fab movie lekin mai aapki picture nahi karne wali hu." To which Revathi ji said, "Please atleast hear the script once" to which I said, "ma'am I would love to meet u and would even love to hear the script because I want to know what you are working on but i am not gonna do this."
She further continued the reason why she didn't want to do the film, "Then she very sweetly came to office and then unhone mujhe scirpt sunayi and maine Revathi ma'am k pehli picture dekhi thi "Phir Milenge" and I thought to myself at that time that if I ever got a chance to work with her I'm gonna jump on it. Then I heard the script and I loved it, so I asked her for a day's time. The script was so perfect, my character the dialogues but I was still hesitating, because it was subject of a mother and child and something happening to your child. As a mother I don't want to do such roles where I have to pretend that something is happening to my child. Then I went back and thought if I would let my one fear stop me from doing this film I would regret it for the rest of my life".
For the unversed, the film is produced by Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agrawal through their banners, Blive Productions and RTake Studios, respectively. Starring Kajol and Vishal Jethwa in the lead roles, the film is centered around a true story of a mother and her son, Venky, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
