Junaid Khan Says He Doesn’t Need Social Media for Work: ‘They’ll Cast Me Because of My Family’

Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, is gearing up for his big-screen debut with Loveyapa, co-starring Khushi Kapoor. Unlike many newcomers in the industry, Junaid has chosen to stay away from social media, confident that his family background is enough to get him work.

In a recent interview, Junaid acknowledged that being Aamir Khan’s son gives him many advantages. He openly admitted that his privileged position allows him to skip the struggle that many actors face. While speaking with Radio Nasha, he said, “Nobody has said anything negative to me, actually. I’m not on social media, so I have no idea.” Junaid further explained that most actors rely on social media visibility to land projects, but he doesn’t have to.

That is also a privilege. Producers will cast me even without seeing any public presence. Not many actors have that. It’s purely because of the family I come from.

In today’s film industry, an actor’s social media following plays a crucial role in their popularity and career growth. Many actors, including Bollywood’s biggest stars, actively use social media to engage with fans and promote their films. However, Junaid’s stance proves that his industry connections allow him to bypass this requirement.

His Loveyapa co-star Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi, also admitted that she understands her privilege. She said, “We have a lot to be thankful for, so I don’t really want to be in a position to complain about anything. I am happy where I am.”

Loveyapa, directed by Advait Chandan, is set to release on February 7. It is a remake of the Tamil hit Love Today (2022). The film follows Gaurav (Junaid Khan) and Baani (Khushi Kapoor), a couple whose love is tested when Baani’s father (Ashutosh Rana) forces them to swap phones. What starts as a trust exercise soon reveals hidden secrets, turning their relationship upside down.
