Jhanak: Krushal Ahuja on qutting the show: 'Time to say final goodbye'

Star Plus' television drama Jhanak, featuring Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja in the lead roles, is reportedly heading for a significant 20-year leap in its storyline. The news, first reported by India Forums, suggests a major shift in the show's narrative and cast lineup.

According to sources, the current lead actors—Hiba Nawab, Krushal Ahuja, and Chandni Sharma—are expected to exit the show ahead of the leap. The reason behind their departure appears to be the demand for their characters to age considerably in the revamped plot. The actors are reportedly not comfortable portraying older versions of their roles and have therefore chosen to step away from the series.

Krushal Ahuja confirmed the development in a statement to India Forums. He said, "Time to say final goodbye to Jhanak! I am grateful to be a part of this project. The best part about the show was getting love throughout from the audience. It was a nice 2-year journey because we started shooting from August 2023."

This isn't the first time a leap was considered for Jhanak. Earlier, there were discussions about replacing Hiba and Krushal when a time jump was initially proposed. However, due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the makers decided to postpone the leap, fearing it wouldn't be an ideal time to introduce major changes. As a result, both actors were retained temporarily.
