Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s highly publicised split remains unresolved, with the couple struggling to finalise the details of their divorce nearly six months after filing. Despite initial promises of an amicable separation, tensions have reportedly escalated behind the scenes.

The situation has become so strained that Ben Affleck has been spending more time with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, while avoiding contact with Lopez. The pair’s complicated co-parenting arrangements have further added to the tension as they aim for a smooth transition for their blended families.

The insider added, “They both said they wanted to do it amicably and have even talked a good game about wanting to consciously uncouple, but that plan seems to be out the window because they can’t agree on how to divide things up, which of course is affecting things.”

Financial disputes appear to be at the core of the conflict. The couple entered their marriage without a prenuptial agreement, with Lopez’s $400 million net worth significantly exceeding Affleck’s $150 million. “She’s worth more than twice as much as him, so it’s especially hard for him not to see this as her being vindictive and greedy,” the source explained. “They both say they’re desperate to avoid more drama, but the longer this drags on, the worse it’s going to get.”

The complexities of co-parenting also loom large. Affleck and Lopez share five children between them: Affleck’s three children with Garner—Violet, 19, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12—and Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony.
