Actor and Producer JD Majethia of Khichdi fame recently launched a website for corona relief. It is a visual treat to watch the actor back on television with Khichdi being re-aired.

The shoots of Bollywood movies, Television shows, and Digital shows were suspended from March 19, 2020, amidst the Coronavirus scare. Initially, it was expected that things will get back to normal from 1st April but the condition worsened and the lockdown has now extended to 3rd May. The viewers have been watching re-runs of old shows on TV since then. The lockdown has affected the daily wage earners in the industry as they have no other source of income.

JD Majethia revealed that the TV producers are planning to request the government to start shooting from the 4th of May. Speaking about the same to a leading newspaper, Majethia said, “We have a lot of daily wage earners in our industry and we are working to approach the government with a request to be given preference. We can work out some SOPs, and with a small unit, we would like to be given permission to start shoots for TV on a closed set at the earliest. Right now, we feel we will be able to shoot after May 3. If we set the required parameters, shoot in a sanitized zone and are extremely careful, then, we would like to be allowed to resume business slowly.”

JD Majethia, the chairman TV wing of the Indian Film and TV Producers Council (IFTPC), opened up about their plans to request the government to help them to restart shooting TV shows from early May.

Meanwhile, watching their favorite old shows on TV has been a visual treat for the viewers. Let us hope for the best in the future.
