Jaswir Kaur wants to cuddle up to comedy!

Jaswir explains that she signed up for the role of Mohini in Shree Adi Manav because she loved the experience of doing comedy on Laughter Ke Phatke. She tells us, "I know all three protagonists of Shree Adi Manav (Vishal Kotian, Vrajesh Hirjee and Kiku Sharda respectively). I also know the producer Paritossh Painter quite well. Plus, the fact that they were offering me a comic character was too much to resist."

Jaswir elaborates, "I loved my time doing Laughter Ke Phatke. I feel I'm a comical person in real life too. Like I keep making people laugh in real life. All of my friends are always egging me on to do more of comedy. I ENJOY doing comedy! And to be frank, even though I was shooting from 7-9, and was dead tired during the shoot of Shree Adi Manav, mentally I was all charged up, just for the fact that I was on a laughter roller-coaster ride all through my shoot! How I controlled my own laughter during the shoots, thank God for that self-control, only I know. It was so hilarious all the while!"

The break after Betiyaan was a much needed breather Jaswir reveals. She dishes out the details saying, "I needed that break because doing a soap does take its toll on you. Also, my self imposed ban on fiction after that was because as an artist I've always loved to try out new stuff. Like in K Street Pali Hill I got a proper lead role, in Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat I played a ghost, in Maayka I was this hip UK return girl, in Left Right Left I was yoga instructor and then finally in Betiyann I played an out an out negative role. After Betiyann I tested the waters of comedy and now I'm loving it! For now I'm looking forward to do more of it. But later I might change my focus to something else!"

Jaswir made sure her time-out was productive too. She enthuses, "I joined a gym during my break. And I also learnt swimming. I like Khatron Ke Khiladi and I aspire to be a part of it someday. So I figured I might as well be fully prepared for it. And since I'm a fast learner I learnt swimming in ten flat days!"

The vivacious actress has only bright days ahead as she is in her best form. "My knee which always gave me trouble is much better now," she gladly declares.

We are positive her off-screen fun would have reflected in a good way onscreen too in Shree Adi Manav. Jaswir plays the role of Mohini who swindles Shree Adi Manav of a hefty sum of money. How the trio then tracks her down, only to find out that she owns her own restaurant, and try to get their money back make for the side-splitting drama…
