Janhvi Kapoor reveals why she was fired from Simmba with Sara Ali Khan replacing her as a leading lady

Sara Ali Khan had a great start to her career in 2018 with Kedarnath and Simmba. While people loved her as the spirited rebellious Mukku in the Abhishek Kapoor film, Simmba made over Rs 200 crores at the box office. But Janhvi Kapoor was the first choice for the Rohit Shetty film. The actress has been diligently promoting Mr And Mrs Mahi, which is coming in theatres in a few days. This will be her first release in the cinema halls after a really long time. 

Janhvi Kapoor was doing an interview with a popular channel when she was asked about being thrown out of a movie. It seems she told people she was doing the film before the makers made an official announcement. This upset them and they decided to replace her. Janhvi Kapoor admitted that she was indeed sacked from the film. She said some other actress took her place and film has been released a long time back. When the interviewer asked her if good friend Sara Ali Khan was the one who took her place she answered in the affirmative. 

Both the actresses made their debut in the same year. Janhvi Kapoor’s Dhadak came in the summer while Sara Ali Khan’s Kedarnath was in December 2018. The two actresses are great friends in real life. They bonded wonderfully in the lockdown. Janhvi Kapoor’s Mr And Mrs Mahi stars Rajkummar Rao and her. Their chemistry is looking very good. The songs have also caught on with the audience. It is made by Dharma Movies, and directed by Sharan Sharma. 

Rohit Shetty had said on Kapil Sharma's show that Sara Ali Khan requested him a lot to cast her in Simmba. He said her father Saif Ali Khan had never approached him. He said he became emotional understanding that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter wanted to be cast in his movies.
