Jacqueline Fernandez has no intention to defame Nora Fatehi: Reports

Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi on Monday filed a case against fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez, and 15 media houses, for alleged defamatory remarks made by her. She accused the media organisations of "carrying forward and circulating" Ms Fernandez's remarks. The Manike Hite star further claimed that her rival actor and the media organisations "were acting in connivance with each other".

Well now according to an industry source, revealed that, “ it’s shocking that Nora has filed a defamation on media as well as Jacqueline. Saying somethings to competent authorities during an ongoing investigation is not defamation. It’s not as if Jacqueline has given media quotes and held a press conference in the matter. She has only co operated in investigation and is fighting her case. Actually since the case is an ongoing investigation Jacqueline has maintained a very dignified media silence on the issue.”

The statements in question is related to the central agencies' ongoing investigation into the 200 crore extortion case, in which fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar is the key accused. Since it was discovered that Ms. Fernandez and Nora received pricey gifts from the con artist, she has been designated as an accused in the case and both actors have been called to testify. 

Jacqueline Fernandez had stated repeatedly before the Appellate Authority of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, or PMLA, that it is surprising that some other celebrities, most notably Norah Fatehi, were also deceived by Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the case. However, even though Nora Fatehi and other celebrities who received gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar have been called as witnesses, she is being dragged into the case as an accused.
