Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan is trying to carve a space for herself in the showbiz. The young star plans on going head-on with fellow star kids. But she chose a completely different path. She will be seen making her theatrical debut with ‘Euripides 'Medea’ as a director.
Ira is surely turning heads with the preparations that are underway to bring the play together. The star kid announced her directorial debut with a theatre play, Euripides 'Medea which is a Greek tragedy and talking about her journey!
But when it comes to Ira, she has clearly never felt the urge to act just like her father. And while she has no intentions of making an appearance before the camera, Ira was asked if she has ever thought of directing her father someday.
Talking to Bombay Times about the same, she said:
Maybe someday, when I have a better understanding of the craft. Working with somebody you know personally can be complicated, and that’s not specifically for my dad, but applies to everyone. I want to be sure of myself before I work with my dad because he is really well-read, like everybody else in the family. So, when I’m sure about myself, I will think about directing him.-
Earlier, during a discussion, Ira was asked about what was the most difficult thing for her while adapting this play she quickly replied: “The mindset switch was the hardest thing about this play as it was written in a different era".
Talking about why she chose to mark her debut with Medea, Ira says, “I wanted to direct a story where I feel like I will be able to tell something specific. I like this play because I wanted to tell the story in my way.”
‘Euripides’ Medea’ is being directed by Ira Khan, presented by Entropy and Produced by Sarika's production house NautankiSa Productions.
