Initially, it was awkward to play a mother to the girls of same age: Surabhi Das of ‘Nima Denzongpa’

Colors’ show ‘Nima Denzongpa’ is getting quite interesting with each passing episode. The current track of the show revolves around Nima brining Aai and Suresh at her house as they don’t have a house to stay. Aai warns Suresh that she wants to go to her house as early as possible and also taunts Nima she has come to her house only because she insisted.

Surabhi Das plays the titular role in the show. The show started off with Nima’s struggle as she migrates from Sikkim to Mumbai. Months after, the show took a generation leap and Surabhi is seen playing a mother to three girls of relatively same age group.

India Forums got in touch with Surabhi and asked her about her thoughts on the leap in the show, the actress said, “It’s not like the leap happened overnight. It was always a part of the story. I was informed well before and agreed for the same because I didn’t want to let go of the opportunity on featuring on a show like this and a channel like COLORS. Also, it was a great opportunity for me as an actress to showcase my talent as the show traces the three important phases of Nima and there was a lot of scope to performance. So, I’m pretty fine with the leap”.

We asked Surabhi if she felt awkward as girls of same age addresses her as mother on-screen, she said, “Honestly, for the initial days, I did feel a little awkward but with time, I got used to it”.

Well, in the upcoming episodes, Tulika will feel insecure to see Nima and Suresh together.
