Not all love stories have a happy ending. Maybe they were never meant to... Maybe that's the beauty of it.

Loving someone who does not love you back is a feeling only those who have experienced it can describe. Passion, obsession, pain, addiction, fear, anger, self-pity and helplessness are some of the few emotions these one sided lovers deal on a daily basis.

We list down seven shows which depict the agony and intensity of 'one-sided' love stories.

Abhi and Tanu in 'Kumkum Bhagya'

The whole show's crux is in fact based on the concept of one-sided love. Of course, we aren't talking about Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha), but we are talking about the obsessive love Tanu (Leena Jumani) has for Abhi and keeps plotting different things to seek his attention.

Dhruv and Thapki in 'Thapki Pyaar Ki'

This track may no longer be a winner for the show, however, the show fetched some of its best ratings in it, where Dhruv (Ankit Bathla) has this immense love for Thapki (Jigyasa Singh) and Thapki would just not entertain the same and love Bihaan (Manish Goplani) instead.

Yuvi and Twinkle in 'Tashan-E-Ishq'

The show's title is 'Tashan-E-Ishq'; where it cannot get more obvious, can it? Yuvi (Zain Iman) spent months and months of show's runtime plotting several different schemes to obtain Twinkle's (Jasmine Bhasin) love, where Kunj (Sidhant Gupta/Naman Shaw) would have their own love story brewing instead.

Gayu and Karthik in 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'

Time and again, Gayu (Kanchi Singh) keeps hinting and trying to obtain Karthik's (Mohsin Khan) love. Gayu loves Karthik immensely and keeps giving in her efforts, but Karthik, instead loved Naira (Shivangi Joshi). How much more one-sided can it get?

Aaliya and Mihir in 'Yeh Hai Mohabaatein'

A current and buzzig angle, Aaliya (Krishna Mukherjee) loves Mihir (Raj Singh Arora) and Aditya (Abhishek Verma) loves Aaliya. Very similar to the track in 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', it has its own twists and turns, where Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) recently found out about Aditya's love.

Imli and Sooraj and Vivaan in 'Udann'

This one is a real brain-racker, as Imli (Vidhi Pandya) had some intimate moments with Sooraj (Vijendra Kumeria) in the past but doesn't like him anymore. Instead she, now has one-sided love for Vivaan (Paras Arora) who took care of her in her tough times. Need another racker? Sooraj now loved Imli. Love cannot be more complicated.

Aditya and Suman in 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste'

Recently, we reported this track, where the good boy Aditya (Ronit Kapil) will now soon turn an obsessive lover and bad boy for Suman (Nikita Dutta) after finding out Suman and Shravan's (Namik Paul) actual feelings for each other. Needless to say, Suman, of course doesn't love a pinch of Aditya.

The teaser of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ends with an extremely deep and touching line, 'ek tarfe pyaar ki taaqat hi kuch aur hoti hai, auro ki pyaar ki tarah ye do logo mein nahi bat-ti. ispe sirf mera haqq hai.' We are sure, this must have struck several chords out there..
