Sach Ka Saamna - Bhrashtachar Ke Khilaf on Life OK , had its entire last season dedicated to fighting corruption. Zee TV's Afsar Bitiya highlights the struggle of a girl next door against a corrupt system. Lately Colors, with Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha had joined the bandwagon emphasizing the sufferings of a family engulfed by false corruption charges.
There has been a slight paradigm shift with 'Saas bahu' twist taking a back seat and newer premises are being discovered. Akanksha Singh who plays Megha Vyas in Na Bole Tum …Na Maine Kuch Kaha feels that people wish to fight the system but are unable to do so as there are no proper channels " Megha and her family are suffering at the hands of corruption. Our show wants to highlight suffering of those people who want to pro actively fight the evil but are unable to do so". Mitali Nag , popularly known as Krishna from Afsar Bitiya is proud of her character and says " The answer is very simple. We all have what it takes to fight the system. If in real life it is Anna Hazare , then in reel life it is Krishna"
The new storylines are surely walking a less trodden path. After all they do know – it is by the people , of the people and for the people !
