Imtiaz Ali & Avinash Tiwary Reunite After 'Laila Majnu' for a Romantic Saga with Aditi Rao Hydari

Imtiaz Ali is all set to bring a fresh romantic tale to the big screen, reuniting with his Laila Majnu star, Avinash Tiwary. This time, the actor will be joined by Aditi Rao Hydari in an intense love story. The filmmaker is gearing up to start shooting by the end of February in India, following a start-to-finish schedule.

Sources close to the development have revealed, the film is expected to be wrapped up by summer 2025, allowing Imtiaz to proceed with his next projects.

Imtiaz Ali is set to direct his Laila Majnu hero, Avinash Tiwary along with Aditi Rao Hydari in a pure intense romantic tale. It goes on floors in India from February 26, and will be shot in a start to finish schedule.

The ace director has been making waves with his upcoming lineup. Apart from this love story, he has also locked a romantic comedy titled Idiots of Istanbul, featuring Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri. Another ambitious project on his slate is a period love story starring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah, revolving around three couples. “It’s only after finishing the two films that he moves onto the romantic comedy with Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri, tentatively titled Idiots of Istanbul,” the source added.

This marks the first time in his career that Imtiaz Ali has planned three films back-to-back. The source further revealed, “Imtiaz spent the last year developing these scripts and is now ready to roll with them in a short span of time. He feels that each subject is unique and has the potential to connect with the audience.”

Imtiaz remains a filmmaker in demand, especially after the success of his re-released films like Rockstar, Tamasha, Jab We Met, and Laila Majnu. With his upcoming projects, he is all set to weave more unforgettable love stories on the silver screen.
