Vikram Bhatt acknowledged that while Nadaaniyan did not appeal to him personally, he saw no major flaws in Ibrahim and Khushi’s performances.

The recently released film Nadaaniyan has been the subject of intense criticism on social media, with audiences mocking both the performances and dialogues. While Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, the film's lead actors, have faced severe trolling, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has come forward to defend them. In a recent interview with Galatta India, he shared his thoughts on the controversy and expressed disappointment over the harsh judgment towards the newcomers.

Vikram Bhatt acknowledged that while Nadaaniyan did not appeal to him personally, he saw no major flaws in Ibrahim and Khushi’s performances. Speaking about Ibrahim, he stated that the young actor has a strong on-screen presence and is already showcasing his acting skills. He pointed out that the nepotism debate has made it even more difficult for star kids to prove themselves, as audiences expect perfection from them right from their debut. He argued that it is unrealistic to expect a newcomer to deliver a flawless performance in their very first film.

Comparing Ibrahim’s debut to that of his father, Saif Ali Khan, Vikram Bhatt stated that Ibrahim’s performance was much better than Saif’s in his early films. He emphasized that the resemblance between the father and son naturally invites comparisons, but Ibrahim has managed to hold his own despite the scrutiny. He confidently predicted that Ibrahim has the potential to become a major star in the future.

Critics and audiences have given mixed reactions to the film, with some appreciating certain aspects while others dismissed it outright.

Directed by debutant Shauna Gautam and produced under Karan Johar’s banner, Nadaaniyan was released on Netflix. Alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, the film features seasoned actors such as Jugal Hansraj, Dia Mirza, Suniel Shetty, and Mahima Chaudhary in key roles. However, the star-studded cast was not enough to shield the film from widespread criticism.
