"I use fillers every four months, its not a crime": Mumtaz, 77, on cosmetic enhancements

Veteran actress Mumtaz, who once lit up the silver screen with her charm and vivacity in the golden era of Bollywood, has always remained a symbol of timeless beauty. Now at 77, the star is redefining age and beauty norms with honesty and confidence.

In a recent interview, Mumtaz opened up about her approach to fitness, cosmetic enhancements, and the ongoing buzz around plastic surgery in the film industry. Unapologetic and refreshingly real, she revealed that staying in shape is a priority for her even today. Quoting to Bombay Times she said, "I eat at 7 pm, work out for over an hour, and follow a proper diet. If you don't work out, you won't look good," she said, underlining the importance of discipline over shortcuts.

Mumtaz didn't shy away from talking about using face fillers either. While she clarified she hasn't undergone a facelift, she admitted to occasionally using fillers to maintain her appearance. "When I'm too tired, I use fillers on the sides of my face. It helps for a month or two. I do it every four months," she shared, adding that she doesn't feel the need for surgery at least for now.

Her candid take on beauty enhancements struck a chord, especially when she addressed the rising trend of cosmetic surgeries among younger actresses. Rather than criticise, Mumtaz took a practical and non-judgmental stance. "If you feel something is lacking in you, fix it. It's not a crime. Everyone wants to look good. Even if I need plastic surgery in the future, I'll go for it. Why not?"

Mumtaz was last seen in the 1990 film Aandhiyan. Though she stepped away from the limelight after marriage, her legacy continues and with interviews like these, so does her relevance. In an industry that constantly redefines beauty, Mumtaz is demonstrating that ageing gracefully can be achieved with a touch of personal choice and a whole lot of self-love.
