'I have utilized my 2nd opportunity well' -Yashraj Kapil

Yashraj Kapil, who wasn't expecting his eliminations on Indian Idol 5 to come his way so soon, is still very confident of having a bright future ahead.  

How has been your experience on Indian Idol 5?
Experience has been great. Have got an opportunity to learn a lot and even got a chance to experiment with my own talent and got to know some hidden potentials in me.

You were the only one who had got a 2nd chance in the audition round so do you think you have utilized it well?
Yes, absolutely I have utilized it very well and have given my 100% in all my performances but finally the judgment is in the hands of the audience but I hold no regrets on personal level.

Being a confident singer how do you look at your eliminations?
On personal front it was completely unexpected and I was not at all prepared for it. But it's the format of the show one has to leave so, I completely accept the decision of the judges and the audience because for me I have done complete justice to my performance.

A week prior even the judges had expected you to be in the bottom 2 what's your take on it?
I sense that reviews are always very subjective so I had taken it very positively maybe I couldn't connect well with the audience.

Do you think that your selection of song could have been better?
Firstly we don't have the liberty to sing the song of our choice. Songs are given to us by the channel for every episode and I didn't like many of them but there was no scope of change and we had to perform on the song that we were offered.

You even had a tiff with Naushad in the last episode what was the reason for the same?
Actually all the contestants were asked to mention our choice of bottom 3 contestants this season and I had mentioned Naushad name along with Bhoomi and Tia  because I don't feel he's a versatile singer he's forte being  Sufi songs and then judges had asked me to prove it by singing a Sufi track and asked Naushad to sing a bollywood number. Though judges appreciated both our performances but we weren't happy with each other's performances.

Being the winner of previous Reality show on Real TV, does the early eviction from Indian Idol make you feel upset?
Nothing like that I'm just hoping for better opportunities in future.

Who according to you would be in top 4 this season and why?
Rakesh, Sriram, if Shashi improves on his singing then he can be the one and Shivam and the reason being that this season the talent of Boy's is stronger than girls.

Who were your Best Buddies on the show, whom you would miss here after?
I would miss Rakesh and Shashi as they were my roommates through out the season.

So what's next on the chart?
Once I go back home I'll start my learning process again. Start analyzing all my performances on the show and try to work on my weakness. And previously I used to compose songs for myself so would soon resume work on the same.

When can the audience see you in yet another reality show?
I'm taking a break from reality shows for 3-4 years now in the mean time I aspire to work more on voice.

Who has been your favorite judge on the show and why?
Salim has been my favorite judge on the show because I have been a great admirer of his music and he has always appreciated me the most and specially my voice.
