I don't approach any project with the way that 'I am the leading person in a show or film' - Patralekhaa

In an exclusive conversation with us, we asked her what was is about the character that attracted her the most to if she feels her presence is felt a lot more on the web space and other things.

Patralekha

Actor Patralekhaa has now been on the tube for a while now and even though she might not have been too active on the big screen, she has managed to do some memorable roles in the OTT space.

Right from the likes of Bose: Dead/Alive to Badnaam Galli to an episode of Forbiddn Love and others, she is getting juicier and more fleshed out parts on the web space as of now. And with a big show like Aar Ya Paar on Disney+ Hotstar happening and releasing in a couple of weeks, things are only getting better for her.

She plays one of the leads in the show, Sanghamitra and in an exclusive conversation with us, we asked her what was is about the character that attracted her the most to if she feels her presence is felt a lot more on the web space and other things.

What is about your character of Sanghamitra that attracted you the most as an actor where you felt that this is indeed why I should do this?

I had seen Undekhi and I was really keen to work with Siddharth Sir since then. Hence it really made it go for it and do the audition when he told me. And then he told me that you are doing it because I also love the kind of pulpy stuff he does. Also, this was a very different story. I hadn't seen any such story on Indian OTT space so far, hence there is  novelty factor to it. Sanghamitra is a character that I haven't played earlier. She has got shades of grey, white, blue everything (laughs)

As an actor you have found your footing and presence on the web a lot more than the big screen. Is that a factor for you and do you feel the web world is where you like working a more more especially when it comes to long form of storytelling?

The web has boomed a lot more during the pandemic, right? And for me especially, I only want to a be a part of good scripts and work with good people. I want to nurture myself and nourish my hunger. When I go to a set, I don't think bout the medium as to whether it is a film or a web show or anything. What matters is good and interesting work and nothing else.

While you have had some fascinating characters to okay, Sanghamitra seems like one of the most different ones with a leading face value to it. Do you hope this acts as a catapult for more leading roles in the future?

I mean, good works attracts only good work. I do have a couple of projects where I play the lead, so to speak. But again, I don't approach any project with the way that 'I am the leading person in a show or film', I do not understand that anyway. These are just good characters that come your way.
