I am looking forward to donning the cop uniform - Sharad on new role

Atrangii TV and its OTT app, helmed by Vibhu Agarwal, is bringing a whodunit thriller titled ‘Surkh’. It is the story of a station head officer Arun, who is investigating a horrific killing in a small town of Uttar Pradesh. Actor Sharad Malhotra has been roped in as the male lead to essay the character of Arun.

Sharad Malhotra, on his new venture, shared, “I was excited to play this role once I got to know that it is loosely based on a truly unfortunate incident of horrific killings in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. I also wanted to explore new mediums and act in a web series. I have been working for over 17 years in TV, music videos and festival films, and this was a natural progression. I am also looking forward to donning the cop uniform for the first time in my OTT Debut. It is a great feeling collaborating with Atrangii as they are equally passionate as myself to bring out an exceptional whodunit thriller for the audience. I cannot wait to start shooting and hope you guys love me in this new cop avatar. Station Head Officer Arun reporting on duty soon!.”

The story is about two jilted lovers and a thrilling tale of love, betrayal, murder and politics.

Surkh will soon go on floors in Lucknow and will be out on Atrangii 2023.
