How has been your experience playing Haider and your association with the show so far?
It's been really wonderful playing the character of Haider so far and I am really enjoying it as it has different shades. I am getting to do something new each day. The production team and my co-stars on the show are really nice people to work with and some of them like my producer Nissar Parvez who was the director of my debut show Miley Jab Hum Tum, DOP- Rhishikesh Gandhi and Associate directors are very familiar to me as I have worked with them in Miley Jab Hum Tum. Now after a long time we all are working together again.
How is it working with RaQesh Vashisth who is now playing the role of Asad in the show Qubool Hai?
RaQesh is a good friend of mine. Whenever both of us get some time, we chill out together. I haven't got any scenes to shoot with RaQesh yet but he is doing a good job. Hope we will get some scenes to do in future very soon.
Karan Singh Grover is your good friend too. Do you miss him?
I have shot with Karan Singh Grover earlier and I wish that I could have shot with him for Qubool Hai too but because of his own reasons, he had to leave the show. I hope that in future, we shall work together.
What is your point of view on your character?
Haider is a very strong character and when I heard the narration to this character, I found it interesting and that's why I chose this character to play. The character has been executed very nicely but only time will tell that how the character is going to shape up further. It depends on the creative team and the makers of the show as how they want the character to be taken forward. I wish they will take my character further nicely. As of now, my character is going nice and not only me but every character in the show is getting equal importance and proper scenes. I am happy with the way my character is shaping up in the show and I can't say anything about it further as anything can happen in the future. I don't trust anyone blindly but I know that they will take my character forward nicely.
What kind of feedback are you getting?
It's been very good! People are appreciating my character and my work. It's a very good feeling when you give so much hard work in your work and you get appreciated for your work. I am getting appreciated by my family, my girl friend Sanaya Irani amongst everyone else.
Are you following Sanaya's show Rangrasiya?
Yes, I am following Sanaya's show Rangrasiya. Though I hardly get time to watch TV but I record Rangrasiya as well as Qubool Hai and then watch both the shows as per my convenience. Sanaya is doing a fantastic job in the show and so is Ashish Sharma; he is also doing an excellent job in the show. Even Sanaya follows Qubool Hai and she has told me that she liked my work in the show and it feels good. After Miley Jab Hum Tum, whenever both of us have done separate shows, we watch each other's shows. We also complement each other and give feedback to each other.
Sanaya Irani and your show goes on air at the same time slot...
I don't think that there is any competition because both of us know that the target audiences of our shows are different. The shows are reaching out to a mass audience. Both of us are just happy doing good shows and good work. We are happy for each other without any competition.
Do both of you get time to spend with each other out of your hectic schedule?
We both are busy doing our shows so sometimes we get some time while sometimes we don't but it's always good to keep working in this industry.
Well, very rightly said Mohit, keep up the good work!
