Patience and dignity are the words that define Gurmeet Choudhary who despite of earning stardom and fame believes in staying grounded and respects simplicity encircled with firm determination towards work and life. Here is what he has to say all about love, life and career.
Since you have been known for the supportive character as Maan Singh Khurana in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi on Star One and now as Yash in Punar Vivah on Zee TV, how is it being essaying different roles?
Each character I play is unique and should be recognized with respect to their identities and personalities. I have always ensured to keep them different as the audience would like me in different style and persona. I like to mould myself in different characters by reflecting disparate persona in the psych of the spectators. I don't want them to misidentify or develop any identity crisis of characters I play in different shows.
What kind of a person are you in real life?
I'm a shy person and introvert by nature. I take time to gel up with people and once it sets on the right track, I turn into a fun and playful human being.
Do you make or follow any rules in life?
I don't follow any rules, though I'm a good listener, I'm patient enough to listen to their advices and extract the good and the needful from it. I'm a doer of my own will.
How did acting happen to you?
My parents were very supportive to me though they were apprehensive towards my acting career. I was interested in acting since childhood and had to struggle to accomplish my goals and reach the expectations of my loved ones. I still remember my father's words saying that hardwork is the only element that brings the destiny before a man and since then I've been following his quote of working hard than relying on luck.
How has life been after marriage?
Debina and I were in a very strong relationship with each other and considering the strength of our relationship, we decided to propel our relationship to marriage. Since then, we are going strong. Touchwood.
If given a chance in bollywood, what would be your dream role?
I would like to do action movies since I feel I'm good at executing action stunts. Apart from that, I would also love to do comic roles as I believe I can do justice to the same. I consider myself as a flexible player who can mould himself as the situation demands.
Which was your bad experience in life that you would never forget?
During my struggling days of my acting career, I witnessed numerous uncertainties in terms of dwindling and burgeoning opportunities thus I count them under my share of bad experience in life but ultimately I managed to lead a settled and defined path of my career with that right stroke of hardwork and karma.
What is your take on politics?
With the drastic change in the definition of politics in the country, I choose to not to comment over it as I think that I'm not the right person to do so.
How good are you a husband to Debina?
We're like friends with each other, we do fight and patch up soon and I think that is what love is. We both are of a notion that spice is the pivotal element in love without which life goes tasteless.
Anything you would like to share with your fans?
I would like to ask them to continue to shower their blessings and love towards me and support me throughout my living and I promise to entertain them to the best of my potential to reach their anticipations.
