I am a book worm: Snigdha Pandey!

Sundays are special so we thought of bringing something special for you and this time we have talented Snigdha Pandey who is seen in Zee Tv show Hello Pratibha sharing her interest in reading books. 

Let's see what she has to talk about her interest.

"They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend and a dog is man's but I say they are wrong on both counts. Books are every one's best friend. A book gives to you an entirely new world every time you pick it up." says Snigdha, a book lover.

Snigdha is a book worm and talking about the same she says, "Yes I am a book worm, so much so that I love the smell of books and the feel of the pages under my fingers and that is why I can never be satisfied with reading on kindle or online though I do a lot of that too. At any time you will find at least three to four books strewn on my bed and all around me."

Talking about her interest to read different kind of books she says, "I read all sort of books, ranging from fiction to biographies to poetry. I read a lot on spirituality too. On the set in my free time I can always be seen with a book in my hand and a lot of times I pick up books from the set, read it and put it back, all with the permission of our settings people. That is the reason I am one of the very few actors who never complain of long hours and the waiting period between shots. (Smiles)"

When and how did you develop this interest ? she answers  "I started reading at a very early age and I think I get this habit in my DNA as both my parents read voraciously and so did my elder sister. We had a huge collection of books at home and even as a toddler I used to leaf through big volumes of famous writers and attempt to read even before I could. The writers who have had a great impact on my ideas are.. Ayn Rand, Chekhov, Gabriel Garcia Marquez ,Ravindranath Tagore, Prem Chand, Nagarjuna, Vijaydan Detha, Manto. I also enjoyed the work of Jane Austen, Emily Bront,  Paulo Coelho, Brian Weiss, Linda Goodman, Dan brown, Jeffrey Archer, Robin Cook and Sidney Sheldon, Amrita Pritam, Ismat Chugtai, Sharat Chandra, Bankim Chandra to name a few. In the poets I will mention Rumi, John Milton, Tagore, Agyay, Dinkar, Jayshankar Prasad.. and many more.. It's really difficult to name a few writers when all the authors and books that I have read have given me so much. 

"On a parting note, I would urge all my fans to inculcate the habit of reading in the young minds around them, gift every one books, on every possible occasion, believe me you will be giving them the best gift of an awakened, reasoning, open mind and also be doing your small bit for the building of a Brighter tomorrow in terms of a more evolved society, Nation and the World." She concludes with this sweet message.
