The very popular and versatile actor Sanjai Gandhi, who is rose to fame as Daddaji of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is now currently seen essaying the character of Kailash Maheshwari in Rashmi Sharma's popular show Tum Aise Hi Rehna on Sony TV.
He is very happy to play the character in the show that was
in his wish list. As an actor, he always wanted to play the character of a
father and now he feels very happy and responsible about playing this character
of his choice.
TellyBuzz quizzed Sanjai to know more about his experience, about his character and much more in this conversation.
Talking about his character, he says, "Kailash Maheshwari, who is the head of the family is a very successful businessman and a very dignified person. He is not loud; he is a very decent man who handles everything so tactfully. He is not a very serious kind of man. He believes in respect more than money. He is a flexible and a smart man and he knows how to deal with everything well. He is a very responsible and a loving father who loves his kid and family. I can relate to this character 100% and I am really enjoying playing it."
"I am really very happy to get this character to play. I always wanted to play a character that is very responsible. Indira Krishnan is a very graceful actress and I have always wanted to work with her seeing her good work in the industry. The producers Rashmi Sharma and Pawan Kumar are also very successful persons. I am very happy and thankful to them for selecting me for this role. I am feeling very responsible now. My co-actors Indira Krishnan, Kinshuk Mahajan, Shefali Sharma and all others are very fine actors. They all have proved their marks in the field," he further added.
After quitting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we wonder what
made Sanjay opt for this character. He shares, "After playing the character of
Daddaji, I was getting many similar kinds of offers like Daddaji but I kept on
refusing all such roles. I always wanted to play the role of a father. I was
playing the role of a 65 years old man as Daddaji while I was very young during
those days. I took up that as a challenge to prove myself and everybody loved
it. After quitting that show, I wanted to play the role of a father and now I
am happy playing this character."
