Ayushmann Khurrana ticked off one of his long-time wishes of performing the magical Ganga Aarti at Varanasi last evening. A dream he has been harbouring since his college days, Ayushmann felt blissful soaking in the experience.
Ayushmann shares, “It was a surreal moment for me to do my first Ganga Aarti at Varanasi. I had always wanted to experience this moment and had thought about it since my college. I’m delighted that every single thing worked out for me to perform the Ganga Aarti. I won’t ever forget this. It was an extremely peaceful, magical and soulful feeling for me.”
The actor calls himself deeply spiritual and adds, “I call myself deeply spiritual and it is a strange and lovely coincidence that before the release of my last few films, I ended up being at a place known for its spirituality. Before Dream Girl’s release, I was at Lalbaug, before Badhaai Ho’s release I was at Vaishno Devi. It’s a lovely coincidence and I hope I get to experience such places even more.”
Recently, the actor was roped in by UNICEF for Ministry of Women and Child Development’s key initiative - the POSCO Act!
The ministry aims to make people aware of the protection and legal support that the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) offers against child sexual abuse. The 34-year-old actor recently shot a video on the same matter. It requests us to be more vigilant about such cruel offences happening around us and immediately raise voice against such disgraceful crime by reporting it to the right authorities.
On the work front, after delivering super-hit movies like Article 15 and Dream Girl, Ayushmann will be entertaining the audience with Bala alongside Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar. He will also be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo with Amitabh Bachchan and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavadhan.
