I always wanted to be a singer and its a dream come true to portray it: Aditi Vasudev

Do Dooni Chaar and Sulemaani Keeda fame Aditi Vasudev who is soon to be seen on &TV's much awaited show Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai (Produced by The House of Originals) is quite happy and excited to have bagged the role of Ketki Gaikwad on the show.

Just like her other co-stars from the show, Aditi too holds a special love for music. In an exclusive conversation with TellyBuzz, Aditi shares more about her show, her love for music, working with Amrita Rao, Deepti Naval and many more things.

What has been the reason behind taking up the show? How did it happen?

Vikas (Vikas Gupta) who is a friend of mine offered me the show and I felt I have to take it. There is something about the show which made me feel like it's something worth being a part of. The fact that it ends in 130 episodes and the people who are on board are also important reasons. I just knew that I have to do this show.

Tell us a bit about your role on the show?

The character is super grey according to me. She is very much human, she is not perfect and makes mistakes like us. She is a person who feels a lot and wants to do a lot. It's going to be a very fun character to play because it's easy to fall into the stereotype kinds of characters. I think to walk that line would be very interesting.

You all have been given a very simple look with not so heavy jewelries and attires. How do you feel about it?

It's nice; I like the look a lot. I keep looking at my long hair in the mirror and wonder why can't I have this for real? I think this would be my next look sometime in the future.

How has been shooting with the cast so far?

We have shot very little as of now and I have loved it in that much of time. I think Deepti (Deepti Naval) Mam is hilarious with a great comic timing. She is really funny and I don't think a lot of people know about it. Amrita (Amrita Rao) is a lot of fun; we are always joking and laughing every time we have shot together. It's fun working with all of them.

Are you connected with music in real too?

I am supremely connected with music. I would say that music is my first friend. I have learnt to sing over the years and I found a lot of joy in that. Music is my first love. It's really nice to be able to portray a singer as I have always wanted to be a singer. We are going to be shooting in the studios and it's a dream come true for me.

Will you be singing on the show as well?

No, I don't think I am that good but I wish I was. I feel that it's a little loss but I am playing a fabulous and a successful singer, which is more than enough for me.

You must have also had a lot of workshops. Please share something about it.

We did not have too much of workshops as actors together but we have worked with our director separately. Kushal and I had a three hour long session on improvisation. He just gave a situation from the show and asked to portray the character. I have also been to dance and music classes in Delhi because I have to appear as a learned classical singer.

What are your future plans?

I was thinking to go for a vacation right after the shoot but I don't think I can do that as there is a lot of work piling up. That's a good thing and I am very happy about it.
