KWK: Karan Johar fires back at trolls slamming Ranveer-Deepika episode: I wanted to show them my middle finger

Following all the internet chatter, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has lashed out at social media trolls following the backlash received for the opening episode of his widely popular chat show, Koffee With Karan Season 8. The episode, featuring the real-life power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, sparked intense speculation about the state of their marriage, prompting Johar to express his frustration.

Addressing the relentless trolling during the latest episode with guests Arjun Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar defended the candid conversation he had with Deepika and Ranveer, labeling it as "one of the most honest and heartfelt episodes." Johar expressed his disappointment, saying, "I felt that it was one of our best episodes. They were outstandingly honest. They were earnest. They spoke so much. They shared so much. They were so gracious. And then you're talking about some nonsense. I just want to put it out there that the episode angered me, and the reaction angered me."

The filmmaker didn't mince words when he revealed his inclination to respond to the trolls with a bold gesture. "I wanted to show them my middle finger! I am like, you know, just shut up. What do you know about somebody else’s personal life and marriage? Tu apne ghar pe dekh na (Look at what's happening at your own home) is what I wanted to tell them."

In addition to addressing the marriage speculations, Karan Johar tackled other personal aspects of his life, including being 'sexuality shamed,' his experience as a single parent, and his fashion choices. Reflecting on the challenges of being in the public eye, Johar shared, "But at the end of the day, you have to develop the thickest skin."
