Hyder's 'Breaking Free' not right film for me: Anoushka

New Delhi, June 10 (IANS) Musician Anoushka Shankar, daughter of sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, is not going to act in filmmaker Ahsan Hyder's latest project 'Breaking Free' because 'it was not the right film for me to do', she said Tuesday.

'It's true that I met Ahsan Hyder about his film,' Anoushka said in a statement. 'I found it interesting. But after reading the script and going through the initial process I decided it was not the right film for me to do.'

'I am confused he (Hyder) would tell the press that I'm involved, one month after my manager clearly told him that I won't be part of the project,' her office in California said in an email.

However, Anoushka has not ruled out the possibility of acting in a movie in future.

'I am looking at several scripts, some of them from Bollywood, and plan to carefully choose something that feels right for me,' she said.

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is playing the male lead in Hyder's film.

Anoushka, who turned 27 Monday, is currently in Japan on a world tour as part of the Anoushka Shankar Project.
