Ever since Bollywood filmmakers Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty announced their collaboration by remaking Amitabh Bachchan’s Satte Pe Satta, everyone has been brimming with excitement to know more about the project. Though the movie was a rough remake of Hollywood classic 7 Brides For 7 Brothers, the Raj N Sippy directorial is considered as one of the classics of its time. Not only are the audience eager to know who plays what in the remake, but they also curious to know how the story would pan out.
In the past few weeks after the remake was announced, names like Hrithik Roshan (for Big B’s role), Anushka Sharma (for Hema Malini’s role) have come up multiple times. Many reports even suggested that Television actors Nakuul Mehta, Rithvik Dhanjani, Maniesh Paul and Darsheel Safary have been roped in to play Hrithik’s brother in the movie.
As per a recent development reported by Deccan Chronicle, Hrithik loves the script but wants his role to be fleshed out. As quoted by the leading daily, a source stated, “The A-listers no longer want to do multi-starrers. Gone are the days when Bachchan shared scenes with Sachin, Ranjeet, Sudhir and others in Satte Pe Satta; now Hrithik won’t do a 7-character story unless his character stands out. Sure, he did war with Tiger Shroff, but that was a one-off face-off film taken on after much persuasion from Aditya Chopra.”
As reported by IANS earlier, in a recent interview, Farah Khan opened up about the speculated cast. She said, “Rohit is producing the film and I am directing it. Unless we come together and make a proper official announcement, everything is speculation. Hopefully, we will make the announcement by Diwali. I am waiting for Rohit, because he is quite occupied these days, finishing the last leg of the shooting of his film Sooryavanshi. Let people continue guessing and the reports run. I would still say those are all speculation.”
Well, now all we can do is wait for the official announcement!
Stay tuned for more updates!
