Actress and reality TV star Shefali Jariwala, fondly remembered as the "Kaanta Laga girl" passed away suddenly at the age of 42, leaving her fans and the entertainment industry in deep shock. Known for her dazzling entry into the limelight and her inspiring personal journey, Shefali's untimely death has cast a shadow of grief over her admirers and loved ones.
Shefali first shot to fame in the early 2000s with the iconic remix Kaanta Laga, a song that defined an era and cemented her place in pop culture. Her bold screen presence, distinct look, and captivating dance moves made her an overnight sensation. She later featured in the Akshay Kumar-Salman Khan starrer Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, adding another memorable performance to her early filmography.
Though she stepped into the entertainment world soon after completing her education, Shefali was never one to rest on a single success. Over the years, she redefined her presence, participating in reality shows and expanding her public image.

Shefali’s personal life, much like her career, saw its share of highs and lows. She was earlier married to music composer Harmeet Singh of the Meet Brothers duo. The marriage ended in 2009, and Shefali admitted in interviews that the separation was emotionally challenging. Love, she believed at the time, might not knock on her door again.

But fate had other plans. Enter Parag Tyagi, TV actor and gentle soul who met Shefali at a dinner party through mutual friends. For Parag, it was love at first sight. But Shefali, scarred by her past, was cautious. Parag didn’t rush her; he waited. Over time, his patience, warmth, and unwavering support helped Shefali heal. After nearly four years of dating, they tied the knot in 2014. Their wedding was initially postponed due to Parag’s father’s illness, but when they did finally marry, it was an intimate affair filled with love and close company.
Their bond grew stronger over the years, with both regularly sharing glimpses of their life on social media. Whether it was traveling together, playing with their pet dog, or simply goofing around on Instagram, the two exuded a kind of love that felt both real and rooted.

In later years, Shefali re-emerged in the public eye through reality television. She appeared with Parag on Nach Baliye, where their chemistry and comfort with each other was evident. Shefali also entered the Bigg Boss 13 house, a season known for its emotional intensity. Her presence became even more talked about due to her past connection with fellow contestant and late actor Sidharth Shukla. Though the two had dated briefly many years ago, Shefali handled the situation with grace and maturity, maintaining a respectful rapport.

Shefali’s sudden death came as a shock to all. On the night of June 27, she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest around midnight. Her husband, Parag, immediately rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared dead upon arrival.
According to ANI, the Mumbai Police received information about the incident around 1 AM, and her body was sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. As of now, while cardiac arrest is being cited as the possible cause, official confirmation is still awaited.
Speaking to NDTV, the watchman of their residential society, Shatrughan, gave some insight into that night. “Around 10:30 PM, Shefali ji was taken to the hospital. Earlier that evening, around 9 PM, Parag had returned home on his bike. I was the one who opened the gate,” he recalled.

Parag Tyagi, who had always stood as Shefali’s biggest support system, was seen visibly heartbroken. Paparazzi images showed him deeply distressed, struggling to come to terms with the loss of his wife, his partner, and his best friend. For someone who had often spoken about how Shefali was the light of his life, this is a tragedy that words fail to fully capture.
As investigations continue and the entertainment world mourns her untimely exit, one thing remains clear, Shefali Jariwala may be gone, but her charm, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who admired her, loved her, and found a piece of themselves in her journey.
