Television actor and Bigg Boss 13 contestant Shefali Jariwala passed away late night on June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. The news has left the entertainment industry in disbelief, as her sudden demise is suspected to be the result of a cardiac arrest. However, a post-mortem will confirm the exact cause.

According to initial reports, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, sometime after 11 pm. Accompanied by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others, she reportedly passed away before reaching the hospital. A receptionist at the hospital told the media, “Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and a few others accompanied the body.”

Doctors at the hospital have refrained from sharing details. Cardiologist Dr Vijay Lulla confirmed he couldn’t disclose personal patient information. Dr Sushant, another hospital source, added that Shefali’s body has been sent for a post-mortem to Cooper Hospital. Meanwhile, a Times of India report cited cardiac arrest as the likely reason for her death, although no official family statement has been made yet.

Shefali was last seen in the supernatural show Shaitani Rasmein in 2024. Known for her fearless and outspoken presence on Bigg Boss 13, she became a popular face on Indian television. She first gained fame in the early 2000s with the music video Kaanta Laga, which shot her to instant popularity. Over the years, she featured in reality shows like Boogie Woogie, Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye 7.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Shefali held a degree in Computer Applications before entering the entertainment world. She had openly spoken about living with epilepsy, revealing in an interview that her first seizure occurred at age 15 due to anxiety. She credited mental wellness practices for helping her stay seizure-free in later years.

Shefali was earlier married to musician Harmeet Singh (of Meet Brothers) in 2004. The couple divorced in 2009, and she later married actor Parag Tyagi in 2015. Parag was seen heartbroken after her passing. The industry mourns the loss of an artist who left a lasting impact on viewers across generations.
