Here's why Suniel Shetty believes Athiya Shetty is blessed to have KL Rahul as a husband

KL Rahul emerged as the clincher for India as we lifted the Champions Trophy 2025. The wicket-keeper batsman was in great form throughout the tournament. The past two years has been a challenging one for him. KL Rahul who suffered serious injury spent a long time in rehabilitation before he made a comeback. His father-in-law Suniel Shetty has been vocal in his praise for his damaad. He believes that his daughter has won in life by marrying a man like him. Athiya Shetty is pregnant with the couple’s first child. In an interview with Bharti Singh and Haarsh, he revealed what he admired about KL Rahul.

He said that what he admires the most is that KL Rahul is a gentleman. Suniel Shetty said he loved it when KL Rahul took off his cap to greet MS Dhoni on the field. He said he has never abused on the cricket field. We know how tempers can rise on ground but KL Rahul has never used a swear word on a teammate or rival. Lastly, he said he loved the kind of balance he maintained whether it was in victory or in defeat. He said it was all the characteristic of a true gentleman.

Suniel Shetty said that his daughter is the most blessed woman. The two dated for four to five years before tying the knot. They wedded in 2023 at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. It was a quite ceremony done with South Indian customs. He is also from Karnataka. When he was injured Suniel Shetty said that his boy knew how to bounce back from such setbacks.
