#HappyJanmasthami: The Quintessential Kanhaiyas of Television

Today is the auspicious day of the birth of Lord Krishna, who has been loved and worshipped by millions.

Several actors have portrayed lord Krishna on television,over the years and many keep joining the bandwagon. However, in one-of-its-kind format, we list down the on-screen characters, who perfectly justify being an unsung Lord Krishna as they share the common traits with the love lord. 

They are whimsical, alluring, charismatic and born Romeos... They are television's very own version of Kanhaiya..

The character of Sidharth (Ravi Dubey) in the show 'Jamai Raja' can be perfectly termed to be having the traits of Lord Krishna. Be it saving his love, Roshni (Nia Sharma) or be it adopting various disguises to be the problem solver, one can see a lot of similarities between Krishna and Sidharth.

Probably being the perfect fit for Lord Krishna, the character of Naksh (Shivansh Kotia/Rohan Mehra) has the quintessential feature of the lord. The little Naksh was a mischievous, adorable and loving kid just like baby Krishna. While the special bond that the elder Naksh shares with his loving mother, Akshara (Hina Khan) reminds us of the blissful bond of Krishna with Mother, Yashoda.

While it may be a scratch on the heads as to how does a rockstar like Abhi fall into the category of being Lord Krishna! Well, here it is the leading ladies connected to him that makes him one. Abhi, being the true charmer he is, has hundreds of fans drooling over him. Also, the triangle of Pragya (Sriti Jha), Tanu (Leena Jumani) and Abhi reminds us of Lord Krishna, Radha and Lord Krishna's wife, Rukmani. 

Ok, we get it, he is not a casanova, nor is he notorious... but one quality that describes the lord is his calmness and wisdom. And our beloved Sooraj ji (Anas Rashid) from 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' has those traits of Lord Krishna, which not many possess. Just like Lord Krishna had to take some difficult and unconventional decisions in the mega Mahabharata warfare, Sooraj also had to initially go against the liking of his family to support his wife, Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and her ambitions. Just like Krishna was the guiding light to the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra in Mahabharat, Sooraj has been guiding and supporting his wife, Sandhya struggle out her own Kurukshetra, while she juggles between her personal and professional life.
