The advent of OTT space has managed to make superstars out of actors like Pratik Gandhi, Manoj Bajpai and Pankaj Tripathi among others and even the changing times at movies now has new age stars like Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and Ayushmann Khurrana delivering mega successes in the past few years.

It is a great time for content to be alive and even so for actors and filmmakers. And in the above-mentioned names if there is one common link when it comes to Gandhi and Rao - it is Hansal Mehta. Rao being at the forefront also acted as a resurgence for filmmaker Hansal Mehta and with Gandhi, he delivered the belter of a web show in the form of Scam 1992 - The Harshad Mehta Story.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Mehta talked about gearing up for the second season of the show that is said to be revolving around the Telgi scam, He said, “The second season is always a responsibility but I don’t let that weigh me down because Scam is the kind of show that will have different characters and a new story each season. So, I just treat it like a fresh show, a new one. We are hoping to start shooting soon. We’re working on the production details. The reason we chose the Telgi Scam is that we found the character and story very interesting. There is a lot it can tell you beyond what’s available on the internet.”

Talking about introducing new actors who become superstars, Mehta said, “I work with actors who fit the characters. When they succeed, I encourage them to work with the best directors in the country and blossom. When I see Rajkummar and Pratik being lauded by the audience and the industry, it gives me a lot of pleasure. Patralekhaa, Zahaan, Aditya, Raj, Pratik - they’re all committed actors, who display such a high degree of dedication. They all surrender to the character and the script. In fact, I have recently had a chat with Rajkummar, fingers crossed we should be working together on something soon.”

Apart from Scam's new season, Mehta has Faraaz and Captain India also rolling soon.
