Last week the news of much coveted medical drama Grey’s Anatomy being renewed for two more seasons, left fans rejoicing as it is one of the most popular long-running American drama. Well, now we bring yet another good news for fans as ABC announced Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff taking over the spin off series Station 19 for it’s upcoming season. It seems like the move isn’t just about utilizing the magic but touch Vernoff has shown revitalizing Grey’s on the sophomore firefighter drama.

According to reports, there is a bigger and better plan for the integration of the two series into a shared universe following the shows’ two successful crossover seasons. This might prove to be one of the most interesting crossovers. With the storylines kept fluid and characters seamlessly going back and forth, two hour long episodes have been planned.

Vernoff and her team will have time to map out the intricate joint storylines as Station 19 is not on the fall schedule and will return for season 3 later in the season. Grey’s Anatomy is heading into a record-breaking 16th season this fall.
