Govinda Breaks Down as He Bids Emotional Goodbye to Longtime Secretary Shashi Prabhu

Bollywood actor Govinda is deeply saddened by the passing of his longtime secretary and close friend, Shashi Prabhu. On March 6, 2025, the news of Prabhu’s demise left the actor heartbroken. Without wasting a moment, Govinda rushed to be with the grieving family. Later, he was seen breaking down in tears as he bid an emotional goodbye to his dear friend.

The sudden loss of Shashi Prabhu came as a shock to Govinda. The actor received the devastating news in the afternoon and immediately made his way to Prabhu’s residence to support the family during this difficult time. The funeral was held at 10 PM the same night, and Govinda stayed by his friend’s side until the last rites were completed. A video from the ceremony captured the actor crying inconsolably, holding onto a family member of the deceased, making sure she did not feel alone during the heartbreaking moment.

Govinda and Shashi Prabhu shared a bond that went beyond work. They had known each other since childhood, and Prabhu stood by Govinda throughout his career. Shashi Sinha, another of Govinda’s secretaries, spoke to ETimes about their deep friendship. He said, "From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda's early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day."

According to reports, Shashi Prabhu had a history of cardiac issues and had undergone surgery just four days before his passing. Unfortunately, on March 6, he collapsed in the bathroom. Despite efforts to revive him, he was unresponsive. He passed away at around 4:15 PM at his residence in Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali.

Later that night, his funeral was conducted, and Govinda ensured that he was there till the very last moment, offering his final respects to a man who was not just his secretary but also a lifelong friend.
